Michel Campeau (2013)

Michel Campeau was born in 1948 in Montreal, where he still lives and works. With a photographic career that spans five decades, he has received prestigious awards, among them the Duke and Duchess of York Prize in Photography in 2010 and the Jean-Paul-Riopelle Career Grant in 2009. His Darkroom exhibition was presented from 2008 to 2012 at the Musée Nicéphore Niépce in Chalon-sur-Saône, France; the Robert Morat Gallery in Hamburg; Paris Photo; Fotogallery Cardiff; Les Rencontres d’Arles; and the New York Photo Festival. Some of his works are in permanent collections in Canada and worldwide, including the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, the National Gallery of Canada in Ottawa, and the Centre national des arts plastiques in Paris. Michel Campeau is represented by Galerie Simon Blais in Montreal.
