Take part in The Post-Photographic Condition!
Vernacular photography:
This term refers to everyday and popular forms of creative cultural production, especially in the context of new media. It is a grass-root production of cultural form, as opposed to institutionalised production.
Every Tuesday for 14 weeks, a theme related to the work of an artist presented at Le Mois de la Photo à Montréal (MPM) 2015 will be revealed on MPM’s Facebook page. The participant will be invited to publish a picture linked to the theme on Instagram.
The contest will unfold in 3 phases:
- Phase 1, in partnership with esse arts + opinions will start on June 2nd and end on July 5th.
- Phase 2, in partnership with Fisheye, will start on July 7th and end on August 2nd.
- Phase 3, in partnership with Ciel variable, will start on August 4th and end on September 6th.
Every week, a picture will be randomly selected among those submitted through the hashtag #mpmVphoto. At the end of each of the three phases, a winning image will be selected among the short-listed ones.
All in all, 3 winners will merit a prize.
Moreover, the selected picture of the week will be published on MPM’s Facebook page and on its partner page on the Tuesday following the announcement of the theme.*

- You just need to have a Public Instagram account;
